Neck and shoulder pain can result in headaches, loss of sleep, difficulty sitting or standing for long periods of time, dizziness, inability to reach overhead, difficulty putting a jacket on, throwing a ball, carrying your groceries, and the list goes on.
Whether you have neck or shoulder pain, they are treated together and not in isolation. Sometimes the neck can result in shoulder pain and vice versa.
Courtney (40 years of age) is an orchestra instructor at a local high school. She had been having on-going shoulder pain where she had received a cortisone shot, MRI and rehabilitation 2-3 times per week for multiple weeks with no change. The doctor then decided to do surgery. Prior to having surgery, Courtney decided to visit Missing Link where we found that the cause of the shoulder pain was in her neck. After 6 sessions consisting of treatment to the neck and shoulders and re-education in movement, Courtney was able to return to work without difficulties. She was able to do what she loves and avoid surgery.
Cases like Courtney’s are what we specialize in!!
